The Story Behind Holland Ridge Farms
Holland Ridge Farms has deep roots that stretch back over a century to the Netherlands. The journey began with Great Opa Casey, who spent years mastering the art of growing and selling tulips in Holland. His expertise was passed down to his son, Casey Sr., who, at just 17 years old, traveled to the United States to chase the American dream. Upon arriving, Casey Sr. established his own tulip-growing business in Monroe, NJ, naming it Holland Greenhouses Inc. Since 1964, this family business has supplied millions of fresh-cut tulips to supermarkets up and down the East Coast.
A True Family Affair
Casey Sr.’s passion for tulips was inherited by his son, Casey Jr., and together they ran Holland Greenhouses for over 20 years. With a vision to share a piece of his homeland, Casey Sr. dreamt of creating a beautiful space where the public could experience the joy of tulips firsthand. In 2017, he found the perfect farmland in Cream Ridge, NJ, and with the help of the entire Jansen family, turned his dream into a reality.
The transformation of this property was no easy feat. Previously known as the Rue Farm, it had been a cow and dairy farm for decades. With dedication and hard work, the Jansen family spent nearly a year cleaning and manicuring every inch of the land, turning it into the breathtaking Holland Ridge Farms we see today.
